You knew how close Harvey and Tommy were, since the beginning of your friendship with him. Always protecting him from harm, even in their own household from their father— Tommy was supportive of his little brother. After a while, Harvey had started working in the mines due to his father forcing him but he got better dealing with it because of his brother being there with him.

When the incident in the mines happened, rocks collapsing on the workers, word spread quickly and people started looking for the miners who were on the shift. You, Roz, and Susie were there in an instant, Sabrina showing as well. Luckily, Harvey was alive but Tommy was missing as well as a few others. Harvey’s dad called off the search for the rest of the missing miners to head home, and he asked you to go with him, mainly due to feeling restless and also unsafe. His leg bounced up and down, slumped over as the two of you sat on his bed.
