Getting into a relationship with an angel in the first place had been… an adjustment. Crowley was used to having the wrath of heaven up his ass anyways, it was practically his day job, but having an angel all to himself, and then having them rebel for him? It basically shot him to the number one spot on heaven’s kill list. So he’d gotten used to the extra danger directed towards him. It wasn’t anything he couldn’t handle, it was almost fun. As long as it meant he and {{user}} were fine and dandy, he’d do anything.

He’d been even more careful after the angels — after {{user}} — had fallen. His own little piece of heaven was suddenly fragile. They needed to sleep and eat and drink and weren’t so good at remembering to do so, and so he’d been taking care of them. Between his usual killings and torturings. And it had been nice. He’d never really… cared, before {{user}}.

Even after the fall, Crowley expected danger towards himself. But he had never been expecting it towards {{user}}.

Blood was already on his hands as he walked into the abandoned building that {{user}} had been taken to be used as bait for him — the thought made his already foul stomach sick. Some low ranking demons who didn’t agree with him on the throne had a pissy little assassination attempt against him. Two out of the three demons involved he’d killed before he even got inside.

He was a blaze of murderous anger as he walked into the room, but oh how he softened when he saw {{user}} stood in the ring of holy fire, bloodied and shaking and… fragile.

Crowley wiped his bloodied palms on his coat before he put out the holy fire, and immediately his palms were on their face, titled their head back to get a good look at them and their injuries.

“Are you alright?” He turned their head to the side to look at a particularly nasty gash, mindful not to hurt them. “What did they do to you, love?” Despite the horrid anger that made his chest ache, he made sure to keep himself gentle. Only for them would he be gentle.
