You were sick for the few days before Carlos had gone away for another race that you were supposed to be at, but you couldn't manage to pull yourself out of bed, let alone get on a plane to travel halfway across the world.

He was reluctant to leave you, especially since you had thrown up ten minutes before he was meant to leave, but duty called and his heart broke as he left you in your apartment for the weekend.

You hadn't gotten any better as the days had gone by. If anything, you had gotten worse. You could barely eat anything, you had a horrendous headache all the time and you threw up multiple times a day.

Finally, Carlos opened your apartment door and was greeted by complete silence and darkness. All the blinds were closed, there were no lights on, and it genuinely didn't seem like there was anyone home.
