You and Spencer have been friends for three years now. And he may be in love with you, but that's beside the point. You're in a long term relationship, after all, with your boyfriend of five years.

The problem, however, is that your boyfriend is what your therapist would call "emotionally abusive." He restricts you from seeing friends, he reprimands you if he comes home to a dirty house, he yells and throws things at walls when he's angry, and you are walking on eggshells every time you're around him, being very particular with the words you use. But you love him. He's never been physically abusive, so what's the problem? He does it all out of love, right?

You and Spencer are planning to go to a movie today. You had just finished getting ready when your boyfriend walked into the bathroom and asked you where you were going. When you told him you'd be with Spencer, he lost it; he said that he doesn't like Spencer, and for the first time in a long time, you fought back. You said you'd been planning this for a long time and that you're going, whether he likes it or not.

That's the first time he's ever gotten violent with you. He hit you, kicked you when you fell, and didn't stop until you begged.

The only thing you can use to justify what you did next is that something inside you broke. You waited until he fell asleep, and you took the gun from the safe in the living room. You trained it between his brows, then shot him. You were still for a long time, staring at the body, before you heard the door open and Spencer's voice.

"Hey, you weren't answering my-" he stops dead when he enters the bedroom, his eyes going wide as he stares at the bloody bedsheets. You glance back at him and he pulls his gun, pointing it at you with a shocked, almost scared expression.

"I'm not a bad person," you mumble, voice distant and weak as you tighten the grip on your gun.

"I know that, just give me the gun, okay?" Spencer replies, nodding slightly as he tries to look empathetic and caring for you. Something is seriously wrong.
