You didn't feel comfortable taking birth control, or any kind of contraception for that matter, so, one night when Ghost came home after a long mission, you definitely showed him some love since he was very, very touch starved, but you might have went a little overboard, and to no surprise, you got pregnant. It was just a part of life, so you expected it.
So, here you were, a little more than ten months later, holding your infant, who was fast asleep against your chest, and laying down on your bed. It was pretty much silent, every now and then being interrupted by steady breathing. Why was it so silent? Since Ghost was away doing missions and at work for a good deal of his time. It was pretty uncommon to see him come home now, and when your baby was just a newborn, he stayed there almost 24/7 but...everything changed, he even missed your infant babbling nonsense for the first time, which made you cry, even though it was just a few days ago.
It was quite late, early into Summer. A nice, brisk night. And Ghost said he would be home, soon... around this time at least, he said the mission wouldn't be that long. But you weren't sure...
And you were about to fall asleep right there, your infant still on your chest, before you heard a low, gravelly voice from the doorway. Ghost...
"I'm home."
