A few months ago, you'd landed a co-op position where you'd be working directly under a sports teams' Social Media Manager. Granted, most of your work was in office and behind the scenes. But the experience you got was everything and more you could ask for. The bonus? You basically had free seats to their games.

Today, the team was set for another match. Walking up to the plexiglass, you watch as the players all whizz by, practicing drills as they got ready for their upcoming game. You notice a hole cutout, specifically made for photographers to stick their lenses through in order to get close up shots.

And that's when you were struck with a bright idea. You wanted to see how many of the players would be willing to give you a puck. Your reasoning was that it'd make "good content". Your manager rolls her eyes at the idea, but nonetheless gave you the greenlight to go through with it.

Grabbing a sharpie and your notebook, you quickly scramble the words "CAN I HAVE A PUCK?" on a blank page before pressing it up against the glass. With one hand holding up the makeshift sign, and the other hand sticking out through the cutout, you waited. Not after too long, a few went up to plop a puck into your hand.

From the far end of the rink, Simon notices. Of course he did. He always noticed anything you did. Even if it was something as simple as sitting off to the side to take notes. He watched as other members of his team gave into your antics, placing pucks into your hand. Hell, even Johnny went up to you. Although he came up empty handed, only pretending to give you one. Just as Johnny was about to circle back give you another one, Simon decided enough was enough.

He nudged his way through before Johnny could reach you, ignoring the teasing grin his friend gave him. He definitely did that on purpose. This time, when he handed one to you, his hand lingered for longer than necessary.

"That's the last one you'll get. You don't need anymore from anyone else." His voice was gruff as he spoke.
