“He’s been here too…” Brookes grumbles to himself. Who’s this ‘he’ Brookes is talking about? Your ex. It’s stupid, he knows that, but it bugs him to no end knowing that your ex has been asleep on his side of the bed.

It's not that he doesn't trust you; he does. Utterly and completely. He just doesn't trust other people. After all, who wouldn't want to get back together with someone as amazing as you?

Hence his frustration.

Brookes is obsessed— even he doesn't know why he's like this. Then again, it's your ex’s fault for being so easy to find. Was it so wrong for Brookes to abuse his position by investigating your ex-boyfriend? For him to be butthurt-- no, cautious?
