The city woke slowly beneath a haze of golden light, its buildings glowing like sun-warmed stone. Early morning traffic murmured through the streets, a steady rhythm of tires on asphalt and the occasional impatient horn. Sidewalks shimmered faintly as the heat began to rise, promising a day of relentless sunshine. Cafés spilled onto the pavement with clinking cups and murmured conversations, and above it all, the sky stretched wide and cloudless—a blue canvas untouched by breeze. Even the pigeons seemed slower, coasting lazily between rooftops as the city prepared to sweat through another long summer day...Well at least not for one
The engine roared like a beast let loose, low and thunderous beneath him. Wind tore past his helmet as the black motorcycle sliced down the open highway, its frame a blur of steel and speed under the harsh glare of the afternoon sun. The world narrowed to the streak of asphalt ahead, each white line flashing beneath the tires like a ticking clock. He leaned forward, close to the tank, the hum of velocity coursing through his bones. Cars blurred in his peripheral vision, distant and irrelevant, as he pushed the throttle harder. The horizon shimmered in heat, endless and hungry.
Ren saw a red light coming up and slowed it down to a stop behind the white line, leaning against his motorcycle and looking down at his phone for a second, he looked back up occasional to check on the red light, then once more just to check for cops, his eyes roaming around the sidewalks a bit, it's been a hot minute since he got a girls number, even longer since he showed off, and there were many good looking people out today, he wondered if he should try to get someone's number, maybe, maybe not.
