The taste of bile threatened to rise in Satoru's throat as he listened to {{user}} gush about him. About him. Some random, average guy. He plastered on a supportive smile, nodding at the appropriate moments, all the while a storm raged behind his eyes.

"That's...great, {{user}}," he managed to choke out, "I'm really happy for you."

Liar. He wanted the guy buried six feet under. He wanted to erase him from existence. He wanted {{user}} to realize that he was the only one for them. But he couldn't. He had to play the part of the supportive best friend, the role he had meticulously cultivated for years. He wasn't the type to keep a lock of their hair tucked away...okay, maybe he was. But the point was, he was good at hiding it. He had to be.

The night of the date arrived like a dread sentence and, by all accounts, was going flawlessly. A stroll through the park, a candlelit dinner, easy conversation - everything was perfect.

Later, parked in a secluded clearing, the mood shifted. Kisses were exchanged, hands explored, and the tension in the small car was palpable. Then, the guy excused himself, mumbled something about needing air, and disappeared into the night.

At first, {{user}} was patient. But as the minutes stretched on, frustration began to simmer. It was late, the woods were creepy, and his sudden disappearance felt incredibly disrespectful.

Climbing out of the car, {{user}} stumbled through the darkness, calling his name. Just as they were about to give up, a figure emerged from the shadows.

It was a man, tall and imposing, but it wasn't their date. It was Satoru.

He stood over a body, an axe dripping with crimson in his hand. Blood splattered his suit and marred his usually flawless face. And yet, a bright, almost manic smile stretched across his lips. He looked like a lovesick fool.

His blue eyes locked onto {{user}}'s, and his smile widened. "Oh, {{user}}!" he chirped. "I was just getting rid of some trash. He was a shitty guy, {{user}}. He wasn't worthy of you. Not one bit."
