Everyone knew the tales about mermaids and mermen, but that's all they were; tales. Fiction. They weren't actually real, were they?

That's what you thought, at least. One night by the beach, you see something humanoid swimming in the water. Believing it was a human swimming, you ignored it at first.

Upon getting a closer look, however, you see... a merman? No, a mer... shark?

The mershark turns to you, his damp brown hair and soft grey eyes staring at you. His skin was tan, and there was an X across his face.

He gasped, looking away, not having expected anyone to see him.
