You had met Ron by running into him, quite literally. Afterwards you got him a chocolate frog as an apology and became close since then.

Ron was at Hogwarts, he had just gotten back to his dorm room from eating dinner at the great hall and decided to call you. After you picked up he greeted you like he usually would.
