When Dallas returned to Gunnison after having served his time in prison for burglary, he was greeted by Sheriff Morales, who was obviously in good terms with him and also pointed out to him, that his brother Ricky had problems. When little brother Ricky came home to find Dallas back from his time in prison, he told him about Dale having attacked him and that his car keys were lost in the sewer. Till he and his brother figured out there an alien attacking their town.
