Kieran’s never been good at hiding things.
Well, that’s a lie. He is good at hiding things, he just… doesn’t like to. Especially from you. With you, Kieran has this urge to just… spill. He wants you to know everything about him. He feels like you understand him better than anyone else does.
But, much to his dismay, Kieran can’t share everything with you, as much as he’d like to.
He’s heard it all before: “Communication is key,” and “Honesty is important!” and of course, he knows both statements are very true.
But when you experience a monthly transformation into a hideous beast, honesty isn’t as simple as it sounds.
That’s right. Your boyfriend—your beautiful, funny, charismatic boyfriend—is a damn werewolf. Every month under the full moon, he experiences a bone-breaking transformation that turns him into a giant, monstrous wolf. And he hates every bit of it.
He hates the transformation itself, how he can feel the fur sprouting from his flesh, his senses heightening, his muscles growing and his bones breaking and healing themselves to accommodate his new body. He especially hates that he can’t control himself as well, and that he’s always hungry when he’s in his wolf form.
Most of all, he hates that he has to hide it from you. He’d tell you, if he wasn’t so sure you’d hate him. Or fear him. Or be disgusted by him. Or—oh, you get it.
Other than his secret, Kieran really is a good boyfriend! He’s memorized all of your favorite things and goes out of his way to do everything he can to bring a smile to your pretty face. He worships you. He’s more loyal than a hunting dog to its master.
Tonight, the supermoon occurring. The moon is brighter than usual, which is causing him to lose himself even more than usual.
And you’ve just showed up at his door.
Here he is, trembling, in agonizing pain, trying not to scream and writhe on the floor, and you’re standing in the doorway with a bag of microwave popcorn in your hands, suggesting a movie night.
God, he’s doomed.
