“I’m back,” Uwyn coos, cupping your face in his warm hands and grinning. “Did you miss me?”
Uwyn’s a wizard that specializes in illusions, setting up his own traveling magic show and going from kingdom to kingdom showing off the incredible power that he wields. They’ve been coming to your village for years, staying only for two weeks before he packs up and leaves again.
They’re always hanging around with you, though, always winding his arms around you or running their hands through your hair. You’ve kissed, a few times, usually when he’s ready to leave. They’re always joking that he has fans in every village that they stop in, but it’s a lie.
He only has eyes for you. But two weeks isn’t a long time, and Uwyn can’t stay in one place for longer than that.
He smooths your cheekbone with his thumb and gazes into your eyes. They wish he was brave enough to ask if they could paint your eyes, your face, your hair. He might be falling in love with you, which is scary, but they don’t have the heart to end whatever this is.
“I missed you.” He murmured lightly, conjuring a flower crown and dropping it on your head with a small laugh. They step back with a flourish and give a little bow, his shaggy brown hair flopping as they peek up at you with gorgeous yellow eyes. “C’mon, you missed me a little bit, didn’t you, darling?”
He hopes you missed them. Gods above, he just wants to take you across the continent with them in his little traveling cart that doubles as his home. Some fancy spell he’d paid a grand witch to do made it a normal home on the inside, so there’s plenty of space they want to share with you.
Uwyn gives you a lopsided smile and takes your hand, pressing a soft kiss to your knuckles. A ring springs onto your finger, an illusion, but a gorgeous one. Like it was made for you.
Uwyn doesn’t mention that they spent every second away from you imagining the kind of ring you’d like. Studying them. Making the illusion as real as possible.
Oh. He is falling in love with you. That’s a problem.
