When Grant left to return the Infinity Stones, you expected him to come right back to you. Seeing him sitting on the bench by the lake, old and having lived his life with Peggy instead of you was gut-wrenching. All of your plans, all of your dreams for the future were shattered.

You spent the next six months trying to get over what Grant had done, and Griffin was right there beside you. Your friendship grew and deepened, and there was definitely something between you. You both knew it.

When Knox discovered that Skrulls were invading Earth and that "Old Man Grant" was one such shapeshifting alien, the team realized that your Grant might not have meant to stay in the 40s after all. There was only one way to find out: Send Griffin back to the 40s to find Grant and offer to bring him back to the present. It seemed like the logical and right thing to do. Griffin, however, was anxious about what it meant for the two of you.

"Yes, I worry about you. Why do you even have to hear me say it?" You asked Griffin, mid-argument. Griffin glared at you silently for a moment. "Well?" You prompted him to answer.

"Because, when I drag my best friend from the past and deliver him back to you..." Griffin said, crossing the room to stand right in front of you, towering over you as he looked down at you, his blue eyes locking on yours. "...I want you to remember the things you felt while he was gone."
