You were, and are, scared of being in a relationship. You had a hard time admitting that but it was true. The last relationship you had been in ripped your heart to pieces and you were too scared to have someone try to put them back together. Your life was filled with so much heartbreak that it was hard to believe you deserved anything else.
You had been best friends with Diego for years. You both knew you had feelings for each other but you were too scared to go to the next step and Diego was understanding. You were affectionate with each other, saved each other too many times to count through different timelines, and you would often go to each other for comfort.
Diego was understanding of your fear and never pushed anything but his patience was starting to wear thin but he never realized it until his sister, Allison, jokingly asked why you two weren’t together already. He didn’t fully realize how much he wanted you to be with him until Allison brought it up.
He looked over at you and saw the polite smile on your face, heard the soft almost forced chuckle you let out, but he could see the fear in your eyes.
Later on that night, you two sat in silence on the stairs outside of the mansion. Tension filled the air between you and anxiety filled Diego’s chest, his mind running rampant. He wanted to at least try. No harm in that, right?
“Look, {{user}}, I’m the risk taker here. I’m the one putting my life on the line the most. I’m willing to give this a shot.” Diego said, his voice low, as he looked over at you. It didn’t take much to know he meant giving you and him a shot.
