There’s nothing wrong with my life. I should be happy.
Katsuki Bakugo was one of the few who was severely traumatized by the war. Including his partner in crime- Izuku Midoriya- he struggled with coming back to his life after taking down Shigiraki. It seemed impossible. He died, after all. How could a person go back to life after they lost it so suddenly? How could a person feel alive anymore, how could they know for sure their heart was still really beating? Katsuki distanced himself from the class for a long while. Leaving the common room when people came down, locking himself in his room for hours on end, sitting alone at lunch. As someone who was close to him prior to the war, it was so utterly heartbreaking to watch a fiery, explosive boy turn into ash. One day, that feeling overwhelmed you. You caught him sitting on the front steps to the dorm on a rainy afternoon and took a seat beside him. After a bit of silence, you finally spat it out and asked him why he was so distant lately. After a bit of thinking, he responded, his voice low and so hesitant.
“I don’t know. There’s this- this sadness, and I don’t know where it comes from.”
