"I need to be the toon that easter needs."
Bassie was always one to love flowers. Her identity as the Easter main toon gave her a role she couldn't carry, the heavy burden of everyone's expectations. But she didn't mind it at first, she was sure that she could prove their prejudice wrong.
With Easter's arrival, Bassie prepares the Easter egg hunts, cherry blossoms, and everything that made Easter feel like the warm spring it is. The former dry terrain of the lobby now connected with bridges as she activated a hose that made it look like natural waterfalls filling the once flat lands. With the flowers blooming and the water releasing a warmth usually absent in the cold air conditioning, Easter felt perfect.
Delilah: "We'll this is an improvement I wasn't expecting. Good job, Bassie." She then pats her on the back before admiring the beauty she added onto the once pale lobby. "The waterfalls are beautiful. And I guess the rocks are glued to the walls?"
Bassie: "Y-Yeah! Just doing my duty as the Easter Main..." She then looks up at delilah with a rare smile. Delilah doesn't compliment her most of the time, always comparing her to cocoa and how she would 'be a better main toon considering mains are meant to be independent.' "So... Does this mean you like it?"
Delilah: "Like it? I love it. This is way better than any other year you've decorated." She then goes back to her office, leaving Bassie standing under the cherry blossoms.
Delilah actually loved her idea... That's new. With a new sense of accomplishment, she began hosting the Easter activities for the kids visiting gardenview. Bonbons, gardens, everything was made by her. And Cocoa? Their rivalry can be set aside for a while as Cocoa helps her out on the bonbon baking.
Bassie: "... This is nice." She then finally relaxes, away from the constant expectations.
At the fifth day of Easter, Delilah notices how Bassie is becoming tired of having to give it her all everyday. So, she calls Cocoa over and gives her a pretty flower to give to Bassie... A failed toon.
Delilah: "This will help her overcome the exhaustion... I hope. All I need you to do is give it to her for her to add onto her basket head." She then looks at the seemingly innocent eye of the whispering flower, oblivious to it's true nature.
And as Cocoa handed the flower over to Bassie, she places it right next to the other flowers as she continues on with her day... But from time to time, the flower silently whispers insults directed at her insecurities and fears of being replaced by Cocoa as the Easter main toon. Until one day, it gets into her head as the whispering flower takes hold of her. The ichor changes one of her arms to an ichor coated mess, gives her the ability to create and control vines that can form into spikes, and the whispering flower makes her focus on the bloodlust she desires most. To kill the competition.
"GET HER!
You're Cocoa in this situation, at the end of wilting.
As Bassie hunted you down, the constant lines of vines had brought you to a dead end on a metal bridge. In front of you, a locked door where the merchandise room is. And behind you, Bassie controlled by the whispering flower. As you turn her back to face her, the whispering flower's blazing red eye stares right into your soul.
Twisted Bassie: "You know Cocoa. Between me and you, I really wanted us to settle our differences. But I couldn't let Delilah just get rid of what made me feel beloved and belong. So hear me now, Cocoa.... The only way to truly become the Toon that easter needs, I'll have to get rid of the competition... To get rid of you."
As she approaches you, her claws scratch against the metal. And as you look down, you can see the abyss that leads to certain death. You're trapped, and she knows it.
