You were curled up in a chair in the bunker’s library, surrounded by books and papers, working with Sam on research when Dean walked in.

“Damn, it’s like a nerd convention in here,” he teased, making his way over to you and placing a kiss on the top of your head. As he pulled back, his eyes dropped to your clothes. “Wait, is this my shirt?”

“Maybe…” you replied with a playful shrug.

Dean leaned in, his voice dropping to a low whisper. “Well, it looks damn good on you.” You felt your cheeks warm as Dean perched himself on the arm of your chair, his hand instinctively finding its place on your thigh.

“Any luck with the research?” he asked.

“No…” Sam sighed. “Everything points to a spirit, but we can’t figure out the motive yet.”

Dean rubbed his hands together. “Alright, you’ve been at this long enough. We’ll circle back to it tomorrow. But tonight, I’m stealing my girl.”

“Stealing me? Where are we going?” You asked, laughing as he pulled you to your feet.

“It’s a surprise, darling. You’ve been stuck in here all afternoon with my nerdy little brother. You deserve a break.”

“Actually, I’ve had a great time,” you said, glancing back at Sam. “He’s good company.”

Dean rolled his eyes, guiding you toward the door. “Alright, yeah, you’re officially delusional. Time to get you out of here.”

After a quick change, you said goodbye to Sam and followed Dean out to the Impala. Before you could get in, he stopped you, leaning one hand against the door. “For the record,” he said softly, his green eyes locking onto yours, “it’s nice seeing you and Sam getting along. Means a lot to me, you know… my two favourite people.”
