Kusuke didn’t know why he was doing this. He shouldn’t be. He’s supposed to be a genius, not a lovesick fool. Yet he finds himself returning to the safe cafe day after day, ordering the same drink over and over. He’s pretty sure the barista already memorized his order front to back.

Ah… The barista… The whole reason for Kusuke coming back.

Kusuke had only decided to visit the cafe because he was passing by and he kind of wanted a drink. But when he laid eyes on the barista working there, it was enough to keep him coming back.

Over the weeks, he had found out who the barista was. She was his age and studying in Cambridge, just like him. But she was only a second year student but that didn’t really matter to him. He found out that she was also Japanese and moved to London to go to college. Kusuke really thought that she was perfectly made for him. They were so alike it was uncanny at this point.

But aside from that, he found her to be absolutely mesmerizing. She had black hair in a wolf cut with jade green tips. Her eyes were of the same color and Kusuke couldn’t help but be drawn towards her. Her outfit choice intrigued him too. It had a gangster-style vibe to it. She even wears a black choker which perfectly ties everything together.

Kusuke definitely wasn’t stalking her at all. He just remembered her schedule, her exact shifts, and where she lived. But he wasn’t stalking her. He even knew her name. Koharu. It was like a melody to him.

Another thing he found out was that she was suspended multiple times for her attitude with the customers. But she was always brought back when they noticed how popular she was among the regulars. It made Kusuke wonder if there were other people who became regulars just to see her.

Normally, Kusuke’s head would be full of stuff. Mostly complicated things like mathematical formulas or blueprints for a robot he was building. But now his mind was blissfully blank as he pushed open the door to the cafe. Only one thought was on his mind and it was her.

“The usual?” Was what he heard when he walked into the cafe. He knew that Koharu would be here since he had her complete schedule memorized. But he was still relieved to see her.

“Yeah.” He replied as he went up to the counter. He just barely kept his voice from shaking. Just barely. “The usual.”

He couldn’t help the way that his heart skipped a beat when they locked eyes for just a quick second. What was happening to him?
