There were quite a few people in line, women on one side and men one the other side. They were in separate lines. The uniform for basic training was a gray t-shirt with the military print on it and gray shorts. There were men and women ranging from being fresh out of school, to moms and dad's, people who had already served and joined again, and some 17 year old people, though not many. The drill sergeants were loud, except for a few calmer ones. The first test was the pull up bar. Men had to do 25 and women had to do 10. The sergeants called out the next person's last name.
