Buck got all the attention. Eddie felt like a mutt compared to a beautiful husky. A long matted coat of a mutt, compared to a shiny bright coat of a husky. Eddie hated it. He felt like a wolf compared to a show dog. His rough appearance compared to Buck’s kind, gently happy, golden retriever appearance. Eddie was beginning to hate Buck. Eddie was beginning to envy his fame, his love, the compliments Buck was receiving. Eddie just wanted that, but he was the stereotypical bad guy. The wolf.

Bobby always cared for buck more than Eddie. He was a fact. Eddie had to fight for his spot on the team, while Buck did nothing and got praise for his work. Buck noticed Eddie starting to get more angry with him. He bout ed Eddie’s death glares, and growls when he got close to him. They had bent hung out in weeks.

It took a while, but Buck slowly put the realization all together. He had always been seen and loved just for his appearance and behavior. He was a golden retriever with a kind face and big blue eyes, so of course he was loved and sought after, and Eddie had never been loved because of his appearance, his bigger build, his wolf like look. It all finally made sense to Buck, and his heart hurt so badly at the realization.

Eddie sat in the locker room, keeping his distance from the golden retriever, guarding his territory. Buck just watched as Bobby walked up to him and started to compliment him on a call they had a while ago, and Eddie just listened.

“Great job, Buckley,” Eddie listened as Bobby praised the show dog, leaving the wolf to fend for himself in the wild.
