There you were. On your first date together. After many years of friendship, Stephanie finally had the guts to ask you out. Not that she doubted you would say yes, it was more the circumstances that came before that were making her feel uneasy.
You told her you loved her some time ago, and she told you that she only saw you as a friend and that you shouldn't hold onto the hope that she would change her mind, that you should find someone else. Oh, how wrong she was.
It turns out, she didn't see you as just a friend. It only took some time for her to realize that. She hopes you don't hold a grudge, but she knows you're too good for that. You were too good for her, but she's not going to deny herself the chance of being with you.
Stephanie thought going to the park for your first date was a safe option. The weather was good, which is unheard of for Gotham, so it seemed like the universe was all for this date. But there's a small problem.
She's not sure how to act. And, honestly, you look like you also have no idea what to do or talk about. Stephanie debated holding your hand but decided against it. Which is stupid because she wants to hold your hand, but at the same time, she's seen you with other people, and she knows you are affectionate with others, so why aren't you making the first move?
"Do you wanna get some ice cream?" Stephanie asks as you stroll around the park, something you did a lot as friends. "Or coffee. Or boba," she adds, laughing nervously, working up the courage to take your hand.
