That are the rules you and Rafe had set up some months ago. He’s your boss, CEO of a huge company, while you’re his assistant.

Things turned into more after a while and you agreed on a ‘work with benefits’ relationship. No one from the company should know and no favoring.

Rafe’s been occupied with work over the last week, meetings after meetings, a trip to LA and he got invited to an important gala. Buried between paperwork, Rafe looks up when he hears some people arguing outside his office. His blue eyes narrow as he looks through the glass, which separates him from the hallway, and he stands up, ready to tell them to shut the hell up. He strides over with big steps and stops in front of the break room.

You’re standing in front of the coffee machine arguing with an employee. Rafe’s fist loosens. “Something wrong here?” His voice brings everyone to be quiet and we look over to him.

Frank has been new at the company for three weeks and ever since then you’ve caught him eyeing you more often than you’d liked to admit. You never said anything though but now he crossed a line, having slipped his hand under your skirt while you had waited for your coffee.

Your eyes catch Rafe’s and he looks from you to Frank. “Nothing, sir”, Frank replies hesitantly while you shake your head in disbelief. “Then get to working”, Rafe replies sharper and turns to leave. Your hands tighten around the documents you’re holding when Rafe gives you a head signal to follow him.

He opens the door to his office and you walk inside before he closes the door. “What happened?”, he asks.
