It was annoying you to death that he didn’t even tell you why.

After scraping together enough money—which wasn’t hard, considering one of the only things he told you during the call was that you could use his card to withdraw cash—you made your way down to the police station. The entire situation still felt bizarre. What could this dumbass possibly have done?

He looked shamelessly proud of himself—or at least, that’s how it seemed. He was still in handcuffs, though the officers planned to remove them soon.
