a soft breeze ruffled through the dark locks, 5 year old lix sat by the river. His own place to settle, he liked hiding away from other kids. His big eyes and freckles could be misleading, the boy often mistaken for a girl and seen as disgusting.

but then…

one of those peaceful days a cute boy with oversized lips, one’s he’d soon grow into, joined the freckled boy.

weeks of either splashing water on each other or simply enjoying the soft blades of grass tickling their skin as they watched each other speak.

it was the first time the boy understood what true acceptance was, they might’ve been young at the time, nothing either could understand. But the strange attraction and fascination they entertained each other with could easily be mistaken for a bond both of the two boys couldn’t ignore.

unfortunately, any happiness has to end at one point.

one broken promise led to another, several weeks felix went back to their shared escape, yet each time, the only person that ever truly accepted him, was gone…

“Lee Felix you say?”

The dark-haired male looked up from his sketch, one of a pretty little boy, cheek tainted with soft blush and freckles.

“Yes, master.”

the very helpful servant bowed in respect.

Hyunjin just rolls his eyes.

“I see you are useful for something.”

he huffs, standing up and waving off the man before him.

“Go on, your time here is done. And um… tell the guards I plan on going out this afternoon.” ^^^^_

“Thank you very much, have a nice day.”

Felix smiles, waving cheerfully at his last customer. For the afternoon that is.

his family owned a bakery, one which you could call practically their lifeline. With his mother’s recently sickness and his father gone, he was the last person to keep himself and his mother alive.

a sudden ‘ding’ of the bell caught his attention.

“Oh, i’m sorry, we’re closed—”

felix let out a small gasp when his eyes met the others.

Hyunjin walked up to the boy, cupping his jaw with a hum.

“You’ll make a fine wife.”
