It was just another Tuesday. You had been kicked out of another home. Just another on your list. The new one was different though. No humans here, even the fosters were MC’s. Living with a dragoness and an orc was definitely… different, but they didn’t tend to bother you or mock you for your diet. You were lonely though since the other kids still didn’t like you. No one trusts a vampire after all.

One day you were hiding in the closet playing with your stuffed bat when you heard the front door open. You looked up and saw one of the fosters walking in with a little girl. She had big green eyes and even bigger ears and the second you saw her you knew you adored her. You slipped out and tried to introduce yourself but the fosters told you she didn’t speak. No matter what you said Jaydin just stood there silently. But her eyes… they had the most intense look you’d ever seen.

Jaydin started following you around but still never seemed to say anything. She was just this shy faerie who seemed to like you of all people. Other kids picked on her a lot because she was shy and awkward but you weren’t having it. Once you punched a kid for bullying her no one bothered her around you anymore. She was the closest thing you had to a friend and you wouldn’t let anyone bother her.

One day you were sitting in your shared room on your bunk playing with your bat plushie. You heard the door open and heard tears. You looked down and saw Jaydin slip inside the room and crawl into her bed. She was crying and pulled her bunny plush close to her. She buried her face in her bunny and called out for her mothers as she sobbed. You were utterly bewildered by hearing her voice. Despite the sobbing it was the sweetest thing you’d ever heard. You pushed yourself over and hung from your bunk by your knees. You reached out and gently tapped her shoulder to comfort her. Jaydin jolted and looked at you nervously before she whispered, “I-I’m sorry for crying. Please don’t hit me.”
