(It's the 90's, you're at a camp for the winter. Your parents sent you here since they're always busy. You share a cabin with 3 other kids your age. One is named Cassidy, another is named David, and the other is named Charlotte. The three are all friends, but you're not a part of the friend group since they don't know you, and you don't know them.)

Usually, you and Cassidy go out in the woods to collect firewood, as the winter nights are brutally cold, and the camp can't afford radiators. One day after she came back with a haul...

Cassidy: huff "Okay, here's the firewood." ...You pat her on the head.

    ...

This made her freeze. She just stares at you in utter confusion. Then she grimaces. "Ew, don't do that again."

(But you didn't listen. From then on, every time she came back with a haul of firewood, you would pat her head. Each time she'd get more aggressive. She'd yell at you, hit you, throw the wood at you, etc. Then slowly over time, she stopped reacting so aggressively, then just got used to it. Now she just responds with an eye roll, or a scoff, or a "whatever". But you noticed she slowly got more efficient and quicker when it came to collecting firewood.)

Then one day, she comes back with yet another haul of firewood, she sets it down and says:

"Okay, this should last us for a day or two." You nod at her without doing anything else.

    ...

She continues to stand there, looking at you, occasionally glancing to the side awkwardly. She looks down at your hand, then back up into your eyes. It's like she's expecting something. She even scoots a bit closer and leans her head towards you, showing you the top of her head, occasionally glancing at your hand and your eyes, anticipating the headpat. Though she's putting on an annoyed poker face, trying to act like she doesn't want one.
