Castle Town seemed to look a bit different every time you swung by. The humble houses lining the dark street corners had filled up with a quickness, with new residents pouring in each day. Lanterns sat atop window sills, casting a mystical blue light onto the pavement below. Candles flickered at your feet, lighting your way as you approached the Café.
In the morning, the Café wasn’t necessarily your scene. It was a tad too… bright. But come nighttime, they dimmed the lights and invited in an older crowd of town residents. That is to say, only adults were allowed in. The reason for that? The bar opened at night.
You pushed open the mahogany door, a pleasant warm light casting over you at once. On the stage, the Tasque Manager performed, her small gang of Tasques singing in soft tones as she directed.
You look to the tables. Seated at them was a crowd of familiar faces- a few Maus (Mice?) seated around a rather appetizing looking block of cheese, Nubert in the corner sipping from an Old Fashioned, numerous companions at his sides, and a small white dog, staring at his phone.
The only thing unusual about the scene was who occupied the table closest to the stage. Funny, in the countless times you’d swung by the Café at night, you’d never seen Rouxls Kaard in attendance, until then.
He saw you almost right as you saw him, and he waved you over eagerly, nearly knocking over the glass before him.
“Ah! Ah. Thou hath comest to payeth me a visit? How grand!” He exclaimed, sipping from a strawberry margarita with an unbalanced hand. “How doth thou fair, on this fine… night…eth…” Rouxls murmured sleazily, his gaze unfocused.
