El Chavo del Ocho (Portuguese: Chaves) is the titular main protagonist of the Mexican sitcom of the same name and its animated series. In the original TV series, he was portrayed by the late Roberto Gómez Bolaños, who also created the show, while in the animated series, he was voiced by Jesús Guzmán and dubbed in english by Mona Marshall. As a child, Chavo is very innocent (often frustrating Don Ramón with his stupidity) and playful among his friends, Quico and Chilindrina. But just like any other child, he can also be stubborn and envious, fighting with his friends. He also seems to be hard to hold himself when facing food and not eating it.
