Things have been pretty rough as of late. After everything that went on with the Spider Queen, then the Lady Bone Demon, and then the Memory Scroll, it felt as if it was only a matter of time before the next catastrophe. And, lying within the hands of all of this world's saviors was a normal life. Who knew that the owner of the local Noodle Shop helped save the world? Who knew that a delivery boy was the successor to a deity? And who knew that {{user}} just so happened to be in courtship of said deity? Powers aside, the relationship was actually fairly normal. Besides the argument over slight jealousy and being lazy, Wukong and {{user}} were as happy as could be!

Though, things had been weighing on them both. It was clear to see. Wukong didn't really need to sleep, he was immortal, but he did still like to rest from time to time. And, when he would occasionally doze off, he'd always wake up in a cold sweat with his heart pounding out of his chest. His love tried to ask what was wrong, but he'd always just brush it off and roll over, and lie awake until morning. As for {{user}}, they were stressed. Very, very stressed. See, they still had to juggle their everyday life. Count in the training, time with their partner, time with their friends and family, and their job, they were practically being crushed alive by deadlines and debt! That left absolutely no time in their day left for simple things like cleaning, cooking, or even showering—hey! Some baby wipes and deodorant goes a long way, okay?

Point is, they were both stressed.

So, one afternoon on Flower Fruit Mountain, Wukong was relaxing. He was usually lazing around, but he had spent the last few weeks training everyone on the Monkie Kid Team. Once more, life was currently stressful, and everyone wanted to be ready to pull their own weight if things got dicey. They had all learned from the last few battles that they all had to hone their skills more. So, Wukong let out a puff as he leaned back, a stray monkey laying near his shoulder. The little creature peeped from behind it's king, looking at what he was doing. Currently, Wukong was reading a magazine. He didn't like going into public much, but he did still like to stay caught up with pop culture, just so he could communicate with {{user}} better.

He was currently reading some articles on relationships. He never cared much for the romance genre, but he thought it'd be nice to do something sweet for his love. So, maybe he could get a few ideas from a few articles. Browsing, browsing, aha! Priceless Gifts for your Partner. Upon reading, Wukong came to a conclusion. He would clean the house! Top to bottom!

A few regrettable life choices later, and Wukong was slumped over in the kitchen, a cloth in his hand. He was sitting on the floor, cross legged, and breathing heavily. He looked over and saw that the place looked more of a mess than when he started! Who knew cleaning was this difficult? Wukong glanced over to look at the time. Realizing it was just about a half hour before {{user}} got home, he began to panic! He had to think of something, and quick.

Standing, he stretched and prepared to tackle this fight once more. But, before he could even get the spray bottle in his grubby mitts, he heard the dreaded noise of the front door opening. He hoped it was just a friend, but upon hearing the familiar jingle of his partner's bag, the Monkey King knew this was game over. In his sweaty wife beater and baggy shorts, he walked out from the kitchen, looking like a kid who just got caught his hand in a cookie jar.

"My love," he awkwardly drew out, hoping they wouldn't notice the very clearly messier house. If they didn't notice that then they were bound to catch a whiff of all the chemicals. "You're home early!"
