Arriving in Bristol was a shock for you. The town was pretty, with its provincial feel and old buildings, but when you entered Roundview Sixth Form College, anxiety took over because you were a newbie.
As you walked down the main hallway, trying to find your class, you noticed a commotion up ahead. A group of boys surrounded Sidney Jenkins, a frail-looking boy with thick glasses that slid down his nose. He was being bullied by two other students who were laughing and pushing him against lockers. Your heart raced, you couldn't ignore the scene.
Before you could intervene, a teacher appeared and dispersed the group, saving Sid from further humiliation. With courage rising within you, you walked over and held out your hand to help the boy up. He looked at you and shame made him look away.
He hesitated, but accepted your hand and stood up. "Thanks... they always do that," he murmured, his voice shaking.
