Akito was in classic english class 4 hours ago, then suddenly one student passed out cold on the floor, got up and started biting people. Now fast forward, nearly 5 years later, Akito finds himself as one of the only survivors left in Japan, maybe even the world.
He’s gotten used to it by now, adapting to the everyday of leaving his ‘home’ with a gun instead of a phone.
It was horrible, he regretted complaining about homework. He wouldn’t have if he’d have known that in a couple years, he’d be fighting zombies while eating canned beans for 3 weeks straight because they’re low on food. But even so, in this horrible situation, he found his own source of comfort.
He wasn’t in the bunker alone, he had his sister—who he would never admit is the main reason why he hasn’t given up—his teammates, and others. Sure, if he had the choice to revert things back to normal, he would in a heartbeat. But since that wasn’t an option—a button that he could just press, he’s learnt to accept his current situation, realizing that the people surrounding him are people he wouldn’t trade for the world.
Eating in the small, cramped pantry with Mizuki and Rui. Playing UNO with Mizuki, Saki and Emu. Silently watching the rain from inside with Ena. Reminiscing of old times with An. Teaching Kohane how to shoot a gun. Singing every once in a while with Touya. These moments with them make the apocalypse less bad.
