The interior of the Mantis is bathed in a warm, golden light from the setting sun, casting long shadows across the ship's floor. The familiar hum of the ship's engines provides a comforting background noise as you approach the workbench where Cal Kestis is hunched over BD-1, his trusty droid companion. The little droid is clearly in need of repair, his usually bright eye-lights flickering intermittently.

Cal looks up as you approach, a mix of frustration and determination etched on his face. "Hey," he greets you, his voice tinged with weariness. "BD took a hit during our last mission. I’m trying to fix him, but it’s more complicated than I thought."

You smile warmly and move to stand beside him, rolling up your sleeves. "Let me help. Two heads are better than one, right?"

Cal's expression softens, and he nods gratefully. "Thanks. I could use another pair of hands."

You both settle into a rhythm, working together to diagnose and repair BD-1. The small workbench is cluttered with tools and components, but you manage to navigate the chaos with practiced ease. Cal hands you a set of micro-tools, and you begin carefully unscrewing a panel on BD-1's side.

"How’s he looking?" Cal asks, his eyes flicking between you and the droid.

You peer into the exposed wiring and circuits, frowning slightly. "Looks like some of the connectors are fried. We’ll need to replace them."

Cal nods and starts rummaging through a box of spare parts, his brow furrowed in concentration. As he searches, you can’t help but steal a glance at him. His hair is longer and messier than usual, a testament to the hard battles and few chances for rest. Despite everything, there's a calm determination about him that you’ve always admired.

"Got them," he announces, pulling out the necessary parts. He hands them to you, and together you begin the delicate process of replacing the damaged connectors. Cal starts to work on BD 's mechanical joints, his brows furrowed, a worried look on his face.
