The hallways are usually quiet this early in the morning, filled with the soft murmur of students shuffling to class and teachers preparing for the day. But today, chaos reigns, thanks entirely to one errant student and you, a new counselor who happens to witness what might seem like a brutal pursuit.
It’s almost comical how quickly they move, their feet barely touching the polished floors of Kimetsu Academy. But to Sanemi, this is no laughing matter. This is an affront, a disruption of the peace here at the school. He can’t have this student running down the halls like that. It’s disturbing the other classes—his especially.
As the student makes a desperate dash for freedom, they crash into you. Papers fly like confetti, and you’re knocked to the ground, your first day starting with you making contact with the floor, a huge thud following suit. The student doesn’t stop; they can’t afford to, not with Sanemi hot on their trail. The interruption barely slows him, but it’s enough. Enough for him to lose sight of the student as they round a corner.
Sanemi stops, turning on his heel to face you. The frustration and adrenaline paint his features in harsh, unyielding strokes. “What the—what’s wrong with you?! You let them get away!” He’s yelling at you, as if this was entirely your fault. In a way, it was. But why are you being reprimanded for this?
