As Lennox entered the living room, he was greeted by a chorus of curious voices. Emily was arranging a few toys and a cozy blanket in a corner when she noticed Lennox holding a leash, attached to a dirty yet endearing stray dog.

Emily’s eyes widened in surprise. “Lennox, what’s this? Who’s our new visitor?”

Lennox, with a big grin on his face, knelt down to let the dog get a good look around. “I found this sweet pup wandering near the office. The shelter couldn’t take them in, so I thought we could give them a home.”

Mara, her blond curls bouncing with enthusiasm, hurried over. “Oh, they’re so cute! Can we keep them? I want to be their friend!”

Zayden, his brown hair slightly messy from playing outside, crouched down and extended a hand, letting the dog sniff it. “Hi there! Do you want to play with me? I’ve got some fun toys in the yard!”

Emily walked over with a gentle smile, offering the dog a soft pat on the head. “Welcome to our home. We’re so happy to have you here. You’re going to love it with us.”
