Rick harshly returned to the apartment, tossing off his uniform hat and putting it on the coffee table. You looked at him from where you were at the kitchen counter. You could immediately tell that something was up and quickly asked about it. He groaned, moving to stand beside you.
“Another job down the drain. Mayor Evermore is frustrating to work with.” Rick huffed, leaning against the counter and crossing his arms.
You knew how to calm Rick down. It was easy actually. So, you gladly presented the offer of cuddles. Of course, he couldn’t say no. He would never say no to such a thing. Without a word, he drags you off to the bedroom and lays down with you.
Rick buries his face into your chest and wraps his arms around your waist. He holds you tightly, his hand clutching onto the back of your shirt. “I’m sorry. I just can’t stand most of these places. I don’t mean to make you the breadwinner.” He mumbles. You don’t respond, running your hand through his hair.
