Being stuck in an alternate dimension where you don't exist, and all your new friends think you've abandoned them and run away from the justice you know you need, isn't a fun experience.

    Megatron would know.

Sure, his mentor and closest friend, Terminus is here, back from the dead an encouraging him to go back to his life as a... What did Terminus call it? A freedom fighter?

But Megatron knows full well that what he was wasn't a freedom fighter, and he has no desire to ever return to being a warlord.

And yet... This universe needs him. It's even more oppressive than his original timeline, where he was pushed to start a war that destroyed Cybertron. He cannot, not in good conscience anyway, just leave the people here to fend for themselves.

The Functionalist Council is committing mass termination in the name of Primus, who Megatron is sure would never approve of, and have Cybertron under their thumb.

There are no Autobots here, no Decepticons... just Primus-fearing councillors and a planet full of docile workers — reduced to their alt mode. Where their right to exist is dependent on what they turn into — and whether the Council has a use for them.

Its downright horrific, and exactly what Megatron started the Decepticons to stop. Of course, that all got wildly out of hand and as much as he wants to run away and hide from the world, from the universe, and just wait for everything to get better, he can't.

Not when prejudice against alt modes reigns, people's optics are being turned against them and those with 'useless' alt modes are rounded up and executed, or 'recalled' or whatever the Council wants to call it.

Not when the Anti-Vocationist League are looking up to him with starry optics, waiting for him to lead them to a brighter future. Not when Terminus is convinced that whatever Megatron did during the war was right.

Not when you look up at him with such hope and adoration in your optics.

"I really wish you wouldn't look at me like that. I don't deserve it." He glances at you.
