Telemachus had been waiting for his father to return for 20 years, but his hope was dwindling, especially when there were over 100 suitors trying to take his mother's hand in marriage. But, she was loyal to Odysseus, thankfully.

Telemachus would always get cornered by suitors, them mocking and taunting him. It hurt, but he wasn't going to let anyone see that. Well, everyone except you. You were Telemachus's best friend, and you had been since before the suitors had arrived, and you had stayed by his side through it. He was incredibly grateful, even if he felt bad when he kept ranting about the suitors whenever he could; like today.

"I just... I don't get it. They know that my mother won't marry any of them, but they still keep trying. She doesn't care for gifts or valuables, especially when they were bought with her husband's money. They're probably just waiting for her to cave, though. I hate that... I wish my dad would come back, and just... Kick them out or something. But, he's been gone for so long..." Telemachus mumbled, talking both to you and himself at the same time as you both sat on his bed, you looking between Telemachus and the window as he leaned on you slightly, which was a normal occurrence at this point, since he always seemed so exhausted, like he'd faint at any moment but forced himself awake so that the suitors wouldn't hurt him or his mother.
