    You were clearly his favorite.

There was no hiding it. No subtlety to it either.

And somehow, the most obvious way it showed wasn’t in how much attention he gave you… but in your clothes.

Every adventure, every scenario, every ridiculous world he threw everyone into came with costume changes. That was normal. What wasn’t normal was how yours always stood out.

Better fabrics. Better design. More detail. More thought.

While everyone else got something functional or thematically appropriate, you got something perfect. Something that looked like it had actual care put into it. Like he wanted you to look good.

At some point, it stopped being coincidence.

    And then it got worse.

Caine started making adventures that required outfit changes just for the excuse to dress you up. Quick snaps of his fingers, dramatic reveals, entire scenarios built around aesthetics instead of chaos.

    Not that you complained.

Most of the time, you actually liked it.

Which was probably why he kept doing it.

Today was no different… at first.

Everyone had gathered like usual, standing in front of one of his swirling, impossible portals. Caine was already buzzing with energy, practically vibrating with whatever idea he had cooked up this time.

One by one, the others stepped through.

Pomni hesitated, Ragatha gave you a quick look, Jax smirked like he knew something was up, Zooble didn’t care, Gangle followed nervously, and Kinger… well, Kinger just went.

    You stepped forward to follow.

    The portal snapped shut.

    Just like that.

You blinked, caught mid-step, staring at the empty space where it had been.

Behind you, Caine let out a delighted little hum.

“I have something different for you today.”

There was something in his voice. Excitement, sure, but also something sharper. Focused. Like this wasn’t just another random idea.

Before you could question it, the space around you shifted.

The circus melted away, replaced by something far more contained.

    A room.

Circular. Enclosed. Surrounded completely by mirrors that stretched from floor to ceiling, reflecting you from every possible angle. The lighting was soft but intentional, centered perfectly on the elevated platform beneath your feet, like you had been placed there on purpose, like you were the star of this show you didn't know what it was yet.

    Because you had.

Across from you, Caine sat comfortably in a chair that hadn’t been there a second ago. Relaxed. Composed. His legs crossed, hands folded neatly in his lap. He looked… pleased. More than pleased. Completely invested, like someone about to watch their favorite show.

    Or judge it.

His Green and blue mismatched eyes locked onto you, bright with anticipation as he leaned forward just slightly.
