After returning back from winning the Hunger Games, you had moved into the Victor’s Village with Gale because you didn’t have any family to keep you company in that lonely house, but now you were starting to regret it.

Before the Games, he was your best friend, someone to look to for comfort, but now your relationship has shifted into one that could’ve been described as a toxic relationship from outside eyes.

He was possessive and overly aggressive when it came to protecting you. Whenever you would mention it to him, he’d always reply with the same thing; “You don’t know what people would say about you while you were in the Capitol.”

You had just returned from the night markets when Gale returned back from the mines, kicking off his boots, bringing his hands up to wipe his sweaty, dirty face. “Hey,” He said gruffly, walking over to the table to sort through the mail, freezing when he opened one of the envelopes.

Gale glanced upwards at you before flipping it around for you to see. It was a letter from the Capitol, sent straight from Caesar Flickerman himself. “What is this?” His jaw was clenched, and you could see the rage behind his eyes.

If anybody from the Districts could hate the Capitol, Gale would still hate it even more.
