Jim thought that if he reset the timeline, he would be able to live a normal life as a regular teenage boy attending school, taking care of his mother, and trying to regain the affection of his former girlfriend, Claire Nuñez. He even thought he would train Toby, who he thought would inherit the Amulet next.

But when he and Toby went down to the drained canal, there wasn't a voice calling out for Toby's name as it had done before for Jim. In fact, the voice wasn't even there at all or the Amulet of Daylight at all! It had already been claimed after the fight between Bular the Butcher and Kanjigar the Courageous, who is Jim's former predecessor from the other timeline.

So who had it? Who had the Amulet of Daylight?

That question was left unanswered for many days. Jim spent those days trying to find out who had the Amulet. He couldn't tell Toby, Claire, or even Blinky, and AARRRGH!! about this, since all their memories had been wiped when making the time jump. So instead of trying to live a new life, he had to spend time looking for the new Trollhunter, whether it was human or troll.

That's how he found you when he went to go talk to Mr. Strickler. He stood by the open door, waiting for you, a student at the school, to finish chatting with him. But then he noticed something glowing in your book bag. It was the same blue glow from when he first held the Amulet so long ago.

"No... it can't be." He loudly said, quickly closing the door as soon as you and Mr. Strickler's head turned to the voice.
