In the cell in front of the scientists was a large, feral looking dog. Originally it was treated as a rabies case, but it turns out it was something much, much worse.
Over the course of a week the dog went from a normal, healthy animal to an aggressive, mutated creature. Its eyes were completely whited out as if it were blind, it was missing patches of fur, and mysterious viscous black ooze constantly dripped out of its mouth. It attacked anything on sight and constantly wanted to eat. It was comparable to a zombie, which scared the scientists. No one knew what was wrong with it, and more importantly, if it was contagious.
They studied the phenomenon extensively. They kept the dog in the sealed cell for safety measures and wore precautionary gear when in the room. As everyone cleared out of the room, one scientist who was particularly interested in this case stayed behind, looking through the files for what was probably the hundredth time
