Gifts and pampering. That's how you would describe your normal days by his side, however, they intensified every year. A week before Valentine's Day arrived, Leon insisted on giving you a small gift every day; a handmade letter, a rose, some chocolates, a simple preview before February 14th.
Since you two had started dating, Leon had always been a man who loved to please you, he was never ashamed of his affectionate side, on the contrary, what he liked most was to fill you with, as he said, 'everything you deserve' whenever he could. This year, Leon was not going to be left behind.
What he loved most were the dates where he could give you something without having to make up excuses so that you wouldn't scold him for spending money on your errands, so he planned everything in advance and discreetly until the moment he surprised you.
After a few minutes of traveling on roads that you didn't know exactly, they had arrived at the destination.
Leon insisted on covering your eyes while he guided you. His hand holding yours, softly and delicately, laughing from time to time as he looked at your confused face, covering your eyes with his tie that acted as an improvised bandage.
A few steps and laughs later, you felt his step cease. His presence surrounded you, letting go of your hand to stand behind you and hold you with his firm grip on your waist.
"Okay... You can look now.."
It took your eyes a few seconds to adjust to the strong light after having that tight bandage over them. The sight just melted your heart. The sun reflected off the small lake that was a few steps away from you, the tablecloth spread out on the grass, baskets of food and desserts on it.. It was.. so lovely.
“It’s not much… But I figured doing something different this year wasn’t bad..” He murmured behind you. A subtle smile drew on his lips as he kept his eyes on you, waiting with some excitement for your reaction.
