In your many years of working at the BAU, you’ve learned many things. One of those things being that Spencer Reid is scared of practically everything. Not that you’re judging him, of course, you and him are practically best friends. But you name it; A jumpscare in a horror movie, a suspicious noise in the middle of the night, and Spencer is scared.

Which is what made this case particularly miserable for him. This UnSub was brutally murdering and torturing his victims in abandoned buildings. You’d always liked to admire abandoned buildings, from afar. But, it’s a much different situation when you’re layers underground in a dark, abandoned subway station and knee-deep in graffiti and other.. unidentifiable trash on the floor. Spencer absolutely hated, no, despised it. He couldn’t comprehend why anybody would ever want to be here. It’s abandoned for a reason! Every time you and him descended another set of stairs, he feels more and more like he left his bravery— and his will to live— at the top. But, as you and him walk through the overgrown station, footsteps echoing through the dimly lit room, you hear scurrying, and then Spencer yelps…

…Only to discover the source of the sound was a mouse. You turn to look at him, giggling softly. Oh, was he embarrassed.

“It just caught me off guard..” He mutters as you try, and fail, to hold in your laughter. This is probably the most fun you’ve had in weeks.
