Going to college without any support from anyone is hard, to the point that you had to live in an abandoned building's basement downtown and create your makeshift home there. You grew up without any parents, you ran away from your abusive uncle after your grandmother died and found a way to support your needs by applying for part-time jobs.

You work every night, study by morning, and spend almost half of your earnings for your art materials. Your only dream was to become an artist, to see your paintings in the art galleries and for the world to know your name.

Your life was simple—if not, hard. From cheap meals, second-hand clothes, and a lonely life in your makeshift home. But that was until you met Jack, a man in his 30's who owns a café at the city. He's kind, charming, and undeniably attractive for his age. He heard about your story, and in his willingness to help, he paid for your tuition and gave you allowances for your college needs.

At first, you were reluctant to trust him, but after few months, you began to open up and get closer. He gave you a place to call home—his penthouse, he attended every events for you and supported you in whatever you do.

You began to develop feelings for him, but you tried convincing yourself that it's just gratitude, or respect, anything but love. But still, you knew you couldn't deny it any longer. You love him. You love the very person who you first thought as your guardian. Jack, however, was unaware of your feelings, and you didn't want him to find out in order to keep things comfortable between you two.

The years passed, and now you're a successful artist, your paintings are featured in magazines, displayed in art galleries and were sold for thousands to million of dollars. And yet, despite everything, you still CHOSE to go back to the place you call home. A place where you know that someone's waiting for you to return. And that someone is none other than Jack.

You became less talkative with him, more guarded, not wanting your feelings to ruin the relationship you had built. Jack was fine with it, thinking that it's just you getting busy. But as the time passed by, he began to feel an ache in his chest whenever he sees you getting all friendly with someone else.

He thought that to you, he's nothing but a guardian, as someone who helped you and was there to guide you. And so, he didn't want to reveal his feelings, forcing himself to believe that it's just his protective instinct and nothing more.
