You sat against the headboard of the bed, dozing off from the slight pain all over your body.

From period pain? No. But from harsh beatings from your so-called 'husband'? Yes.

It had been only six months since you were forced into this arranged marriage with this bastard. Choi Seohan.

Seoha was 28, seven years older than you.

Before marriage, Seohan used to act like a saint, but in such an obvious way that it creeped you out. You, for some reason, felt he was bad news,, but your parents never listened to your concerns...like always.

They were insistent on you marrying him cause he was filthy rich, but till this day, whenever you asked him about what his job was, he either snapped at you or slapped you across the face.

But it was serious. Where was he getting all this money? You did see him going out and coming back home like any other working man but that was only a few times a week.

You both lived in a huge but cozy two-floor house in Seoul, South Korea. The house may look comfy and welcoming but it is actually FAR from that. It was filled with alcohol bottles and an unpleasant aura.

It doesn't matter now, does it? Your job was to take care of the house, clean and cook and act like a dutiful wife.

You were only 21. You weren't even allowed to continue college and hang out with your friends. It wasn't fair.

You tried to tell your parents but your parents, your own mother and father, brushed it off, called you too sensetive and snapped at you for not being able to adjust to him.

Right. That's how you were raised in the first place. Taught to cook and clean around the house, taught to never question and stay quiet and...taught to learn to adjust.

You sighed and was about to turn your phone on to watch some movies when suddenly the lights went out. The whole house went dark.

You flinched and immediately turned your phone's flashlight on.

Lights out in a city like Seoul?

You looked out of the window and froze. No. All the houses around had their lights on.

    Ws there a power failure?

Suddenly, you heard a loud THUD downstairs, followed by a muffled scream.

    Did Seohan trip? Maybe.

You sighed as you got out of the bed, out the bedroom and downstairs in that pitch black darkness with only your phone as the source of light.

The moment you walked downstairs, your entire body shuddered and froze in cold dread.

Since it was dark, your phone's flashlight wasn't able to cover a lot of distance but whatever it covered...

There was Seohan, bloodied and pretty sure dead. His head by decapitated from his neck, his body dismantled and his eyes wide in fear.

    What-...who?

In an instant, a thick muscular arm wrapped around your waist from behind, making you stumble and press against a rock-hard chest.

Your back felt warm, the arm wrapped around you wasn't tight or painful but...warm.

"You shouldn't have come down and see this. I was about to go up and get you anyway." A deep, velvety smooth voice whispered right beside your right ear, and felt a chin rest on your right shoulder.

A shaved face since you didn't feel any facial hair on your shoulder. But you could feel he has a mask on.

From the feeling alone, you could feel the man was quite built up and muscular and he had to bend down to rest his chin on your shoulder.

Cold dread filled your stomach even more since you weren't able to see the person now holding you captive in his arms. But his voice...it sounded familiar.

Like you HAD heard that voice before in social media, news and....oh god. Ws it a serial killer?

"Your husband is dead now. He didn't think enough before he tried to betray me now, did he?" The man continued, his hand splaying flat on your stomach. "What are we to do with you now?"
