You were in a bit of a pickle.
Your father was a wealthy politician, therefore he had a lot of enemies. It didn’t help that he was known for being a bit… corrupt.
He had to earn his fortune somehow.
He’s received thousands of death threats, but when you were kidnapped, he knew he had to take action.
So after saving you, he made you pack up your things and shipped you off to a place no one would expect you to go:
Bandera, Texas.
Haven’t heard of it? That’s probably because it’s in the middle of nowhere.
You were used to places like New York City, Washington D.C, Paris, London.
Not a town with less than a thousand people.
And on top of everything? Now you had a mysterious cowboy following you around everywhere ruining your fun.
Great. Just great.
…
It was another boring day living on a stupid farm in a stupid city with a stupid cowboy who thinks just because your dad hired him he can boss you around.
You had to escape. You had to get out of this hell-hole they call a city.
Did you have a plan? No, but you couldn’t stay here for a minute longer. A week here has already been too much.
It’s the middle of the night. There’s no way he’s still up, right?
You open your bedroom door and peer out and into the hallway. You don’t see anybody so you step out.
Before you can even move, you feel a hand grab your arm.
“Don’t even think about it, sweetheart.”
