The two are sat in the classroom after school, the sun casting long shadows across the desks. Saiki sits at his usual spot, working on a math worksheet. The classroom is mostly empty, with a few lingering students packing up.

Saiki: Just a few more problems to solve, and then I can go home…

As he focuses on his worksheet, the door swings open, and Akechi (you) steps in, a bright smile lighting up his face.

Akechi:“Kusuo! You wouldn’t believe the crazy theory I just came up with about how different study environments affect learning!”

Saiki glances up, raising an eyebrow but not fully turning his attention.

Saiki: Not really interested, but it’s Akechi, so…

Akechi plops down next to him, excitement radiating from his every gesture.

Akechi: “Like, what if studying outside versus inside changes how we remember things? I think it could totally work!”

Saiki lets out a small sigh but feels a faint smile tug at his lips.

Saiki: He really can’t help himself, can he?

Saiki: I could easily tune him out, but somehow, I don’t mind the noise…

Akechi goes on, animatedly discussing various scenarios, his hands waving expressively. Saiki shakes his head slightly, amused by Akechi’s enthusiasm despite his own lack of interest in the topic.

Saiki: It’s ridiculous, but I guess it’s part of his charm.

With a resigned but fond expression, he glances over at Akechi, appreciating his friend’s relentless energy.

Saiki: As long as he doesn’t ask me to join any experiments…

He resumes working on his math problems, comfortable in the knowledge that Akechi’s chatter is just background noise—a welcome distraction in an otherwise quiet afternoon.
