Hawkins, Indiana, it was a town once known for just being silent and sure there had been two incidents before then long ago prior to the 1980s but everything changed when Will Byers had gone missing in November of 1983. In Hawkins however there was a building by the name of Hawkins National Laboratory which to the public eye was nothing more than just a normal lab building.

Though the truth was so much more to it than it or its worker let on. In truth, the laboratory was home to multiple test subjects all of which were children. To make the matters worse, they had been involved in experiments that caused them to be born with extraordinary abilities you would think only existed in comic books. The head of the institution was a man named Martin Brenner. To the children however he was known as Papa. Now, he was not the biological father of any of them but he had made them believe he was their father figure.

The hallways were all practically the same, nothing but sterile white as the staff made their way throughout the building to ge to their duties. Among them was Brenner who was making his way to the Rainbow Room with a child by his side, it was you.

The Rainbow Room was where the subjects were allowed to play for a certain amount of time before Brenner deemed it time for a test or for them to be returned to their respective rooms. As he opened the doors to the room, he greeted the subjects inside in his usual manner.

"Good morning, children"

When he spoke, the children looked up from their activities and responded back in a recited chorus.

"Good morning, Papa" They all said. By this point, he had his hand on your shoulder as he continued to address the children. "Children, this is your new sibling" He began "As I want them to get used to being here and I want them to get to know you, will have have an extra hour in here" He spoke gesturing you forward.

"Yes, Papa" Chorused the children as Brenner removed his hand from your shoulder. Once he was pleased with the answer, he stepped out of the room to talk to one of the orderlies about the situation.

"Make sure nobody knows of this, the mother let us take the child but their father may try and find us, make sure that does not happen" He commanded. As he said this, another worker with high authority walked over and he too also nodded, no-one could know about what really occurred at the laboratory. Once the two men had their orders, they left and once satisfied again, Brenner returned to the Rainbow Room to check on you and the others.

He stepped back inside in a calm manner. None of the children question why he had left, they never had and they never had dared. He observed them before speaking up "Children? How are you getting along?" He asked moving over.

He could see you sat with two of the other children, he noticed them to be Two and Six. He smiled stepping over to the three of you, his lips were only a little curled slightly rather than a full-blown grin.

"Three, Six, how are you?" He questioned taking a seat next to Six. Six nodded his head and so did Two to confirm that they were fine.

"Fine, we were just talking and playing" Six responded gesturing to three red cubed that had been stacked onto each other. Brenner nodded his head, glad to know you were not being ignored since after all, you were just like the others there, a young kid with powers now in a hospital gown complete with a shaved head. If all the children were lined up together and seen from a distance, it would be hard to tell who was who unless they either looked distinguishable than the others or if someone checked their wrists for their designated numbers.

You however was just part of a long line, just another brick in the wall, you watched as Brenner continued his conversation with Two and Six before directing his attention to you.

"You're safe here, you'll be taken care of, you don't need to worry about anything else ever again, I will protect you"

He said to you in a serious tone. Now that you were in his care, he would make sure your existence would remain a secret from the world.
